OHSU round 952

Thursday night's surgery did not go so well. Far from it. Now here we are again at OHSU and I'm sooooo grateful for the care Chelsey is getting. Last night she had a rough night and they forgot to contact us by phone. ARRRGGGGHHH. When we found out this morning we were sorry that we had not been there for Chelsey when she needed/wanted us and yet grateful that those who knew what to do, were there. That was definitely much more important.

We have so many question and not enough answers as to what all is happening with our little Sunshine. Where is all this leading. I could really spill my guts right about now with all the fears and what-ifs that tend to crawl into our thoughts, but I'll spare you the speculations. Get thee behind me Satan!

John and I keep busy with conversations with Chelsey, watching an occasional movie with her, reading, & walking Da Boys who are being sooooo good!!! Sleep is something we are learning to do without or while multitasking. I am catching some ZZZZZZ as I am writing this. What else? Food from the cafeteria! Ugh. This morning I had to return my breakfast twice. The first time the french toast was rock solid. Not good on the teeth or stomach. The second time my apple-sausage links were stone cold and pink inside. They said they would fix me more of each but I didn't want to wait around for it. The sausages they tossed on the grill made their debut from the freezer so no doubt it was going to take a while.

I am glad that I have enough lesson plans to last me all of this next week should we need to stay in Portland with Chelsey. However, I hate to give up my sick days. I don't have many built up, and I hope to have enough for when I may need them in the future. ...just keep telling myself to take it one day at a time.

My stomach is ready for some more food. Hopefully we'll have better luck during the lunch rush.
