GO DUCKS!!!

I never thought I'd admit this but there is nothing much better than to root for a GREAT football game and come out on top. GO DUCKS! I spent the day making a Mexican dinner for our game night. We topped it off with a homemade blueberry pie. Yum.

We've been home three days from our vacation already, and what fun we had. We played Settlers, tried out Nolan and Anneliese's new Wii Fit, dodged cow paddies on a walk in the meadow, ate, ate some more, and ate some more with family. And then, ate again. I've put on 20 lbs in five days so I think I'm actually looking forward to getting back to a routine once vacation is over.

I am now in the middle of Breaking Dawn the last of the Twilight series. I am so enjoying the book that I will actually "consider" reading the series a second time... in a while. That is saying quite a bit for someone who detest rereading books.

John and I are less than one year away from our 30th anniversary. During our visit with our kids we discussed how and where we'll celebrate that event. It looks like it is an unnanimous decission: Mexico, here we come. Now it is up to John to do the research to find us an awsome place were we can all go for a week in December of '09.

Enough of the writing for now and back to Edward.

K-9 Love Life

WooHoo! A doggy-day care, Red Rover Ranch, is coming to town, Crescent City that is! It looks absolutely FABULOUS! John and I are going to the official Open House today. We are already covered for our vacation this time around but it has been harder and harder to find someone to come to our home and stay with Da Boyz! Check out the site to see all that they are offering. What is the coolest is that they are going to contribute all of my Friday Social Hour "fees" to the Humane Society. Dogs and just about any other animals are my passion. What can I say. What RRR is doing is exactly what I would love to do some day, once I stop trotting around the world myself with my Silver FOX (a member of the canine family.:) See how consumed I am with these furry friends?

John and I are going on a date-drive to Cave Junction to get some goodies at Taylors. Can't have Christmas without Taylor goodies. Then homeward bound to pack.

Party Central

...and what a fun weekend it was. Friday we drove to Coos Bay to see Chelsey. We went out to dinner with her friend Heather and her little boy Miles. The restaurant of choice specialises in seafood and their reputation did not fall short. We were supposed to go to a light show on the coast but the weather was so bad we opted for plan "B." Go home and go to bed!
After working on the landlords computer John and I headed for home in the snowy weather. We showered and quickly headed for party #1 of the weekend. Castle Rock's principal Dennis Burns and his wife Helga like to cook and they prepared the whole meal for 45+ people themselves. Then there was the annual gift exchange. We actually walked out with something fun this year.
Sunday morning came and went uneventfully. We just enjoyed our lovely home and the quietude of the day. In the afternoon we went to party #2 at the Lauble's where we were fed wonderfully again and had another gift exchange. I left with a nice gift buy John got STUCK with junk. Ha ha. It will just have to be recycled some future year.
One more week and we'll have two weeks off!

On The Road Again

After work today John and I will be heading to Coos Bay to see Chelsey. Actually John needs to finish some computer software installation for Chelsey's landlord on Saturday. Da Boys will be going up with us. I miss them terribly when for some reason we can't take them. Christmas vacation will be here soon enough and I'll have to leave them with Katy & Mike K. for almost a week.
Christmas present buying is the pits. It is soooo difficult to purchase things once people get a little older. Everyone has such specific & sometimes expensive tastes. We have concluded that the only thing we can do for the "extended" family is to just get them each a little credit "gift" card. I know... what a cop out! At least it can be applied to something the people really want...no returns. :)
TGIF, Yeah! But, what a busy weekend we have scheduled. After our return from Coos Bay we need to attend Castle Rock's Christmas party. Then on Sunday afternoon we have another Christmas party at the Laubles. We are just "party animals" I guess.
Yesterday my FOX brought me a bouquet of flower and a DUTCH Bro. coffee in the hopes that they would alleviate my headache. I'd been nursing the darn thing for over two days. My Fox is so awesome. How did I get soooo lucky?

Day One

Day one on my own blog. Let's see if I will actually write anything on a regular basis. Writing down one's thought can be very theraputic. On the otherhand, I don't just want this to be a place for others to read about the ongoing drama in my life. That said, can I "hide" what I write so that it is only visible to me? Let me see!

Previous to this Blog, I kept an unpublished live journal elsewhere. I switched because it seems most people I know are keeping a journal in this format.
